• Meade horton van pelt

    ExECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Meade began as Executive Director on December 1, 2016! Meade comes to us after 21 years at Pitney Bowes, Inc. and is involved in the community through her church, Gregory Elementary PTA, The Ministering Circle, the Presbyterian Counseling Center board and much more. Meade holds a BA in Mass Communication/Media Studies from UNC Chapel Hill and a MBA Business Administration and Management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Meade and her husband, Joel Van Pelt, have two children, Max, age 7 and Josie, 9 months old.


  • Lindsay Prickett

    Director of development

    Lindsay Prickett joined the Harrelson Center team in February 2017. Lindsay and her family attend First Baptist Church Wilmington where Lindsay serves as Chair of the the Children’s Ministry Committee and she teaches Sunday School. She is also currently serving on the Board of Directors at The Children’s Museum of Wilmington, on the local JDRF Board of Directors and actively involved in The International School at Gregory PTA. Lindsay and her husband, Warren, have two daughters and they enjoy traveling and going to the beach. 


  • Ashton Gourlay

    Communications & Marketing specialist

    Ashton worked with the Harrelson Center from 2011-2014 and, as of June 2016, has resumed her position as the Communications and Marketing Specialist. Ashton graduated from UNCW and specializes in Communications, public relations and graphic design. She also works part-time with our neighbor, First Baptist Church Wilmington. She currently resides in Raleigh with her husband, Tim, and 3-year-old son, Ethan. 

  • ADAM ABERLE

    BUILDING & MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR

    Adam joined the Harrelson Center staff in spring 2015. He has a Construction Management degree from East Carolina, and also runs his own local construction company. When he's not working, Adam and his wife attend Port City Community Church and he volunteers with our partner, Phoenix Hometown Hires.


  • Dianne Jones

    administrative assistant

    Dianne joined The Harrelson Center staff in January 2016. She and her husband, Craig, recently relocated from Annapolis, Maryland to Leland, NC. They enjoy sailing and kayaking in their spare time. She has volunteered at various Airlie Gardens events and is an avid gardener. Dianne's background is in graphic design, marketing and administrative work and she enjoys painting and furniture refinishing.

  • SONJA MCFARLAND

    HELP HUB DIRECTOR

    Sonja volunteered with the outreach program at St. James Episcopal Church for many years. As the Help Hub Director, Sonja coordinates volunteers and the daily activities of the Help Hub. Sonja works part-time at The Harrelson Center and also works as a care coordinator.

  • Robert davis

    maintenance assistant & security

    Robert entered the Phoenix Hometown Hires program in 2015 and joined our staff shortly after to help with evening security & building maintenance. He is the father of two teenagers. Robert always wears a smile along with his security badge!

  • Lena Douglas

    Receptionist

    Lena is a part of the United Way Senior Aides program. She greets guests in our lobby, answers phones and manages the First Book cart. We’re so happy to have her help!
