COVID-19 Recovery

Volume has picked up and additional phone lines have been installed to accommodate incoming needs. Volunteer advisors are assisting by phone and in person Tuesday-Thursday, 9-12. Concerns about paying rent are real for many. Stimulus payments are long spent, and the Governor's prohibition on evictions for nonpayment ended for those renting from private landlords. We are negotiating with landlords, proposing payment of up to a month of past-due rent if a viable payment plan can be made for any additional balance. The moratorium on utility disconnections for non-payment was extended, but we are seeing large balances that will be hard to make up even over a 6-month mandated payment plan.
