    It’s tee time! Come out for a round of golf on the beautiful Magnolia Greens course! This collaborative fundraiser will benefit the Harrelson Center and 10 of their nonprofit partners!   • CAPE FEAR HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION HOMEFEST AT COMPASS POINTE

    This year the Wilmington Home Builders Association will be holding Home Fest in Compass Pointe and The Jo Ann Carter Harrelson Center has been selected to be the 2017 Homefest Community Focus Beneficiary partner!  HomeFest is Southeastern NC’s largest single-site, new-home showcase! This exciting two-day event at beautiful Compass Pointe in Leland has FREE Admission, home tours, street fair, 4-Mile Trail Race, kid’s Zone, and more! Click here for more details on Homefest!

  • TourS of the Center

    FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH    11:00 AM - 12:00 PM


    Tours are offered on the first Tuesday of every month at 11:00 a.m. We gather in the main lobby on the 2nd Floor of the center. The tour lasts about 45 minutes, and afterwards many visitors like to walk to their favorite downtown Wilmington restaurant for lunch. Touring the Center is a great way to learn about what we do, meet our partners, check out the old jail, and find out more about volunteer opportunities! Call 910-343-8212 or email Lindsay to RSVP.   • a safe place day in the life luncheon

    Friday, August 18th from 12 - 1 PM

    You are invited to attend our 5th annual "A Day in the LIfe" luncheon which will be held at the Coastline Convention Center on Friday, August 18th from 12-1pm. This is the annual fundraiser for A Safe Place, which is an empowerment organization that focuses on prevention, advocacy, and restoration to assist victims of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic minor sex trafficking.

  • RI PEER EMPLOYMENT TRAINING

    September 18th-29th (excluding Saturday & Sunday) at RI International Wellness City (1960 S. 17th Street). Contact Tiffany for details & application. 

    Peers in the workforce helps transform the recovery health services system with their unique skills and "been there" experience. It is engaging and fun, challenging and transformative, holding the high expectation that people with significant challenges can overcome them and succeed at the highest level. 


    The Peer Employment Training focuses on:

    • Developing peer support skills for use in the workplace
    • The exploration and development of personal recovery
    • Supporting individuals in recognizing their strength, possibilities and accountability as certified peers. A certificate is issued at completion of the course.
  • Operation pretty things 2nd annual gala

    OCTOBER 6 - Coastline Convention Center

    This spectacular black tie event will include a cocktail hour, deliciously catered dishes, live music, silent and live auctions, and a special presentation! The primary goal of this occasion is to raise enough funds to continue to pursue OPT's mission...to love and empower victims of domestic violence. OPT is invaluable resource for domestic violence shelters, and they hope to continue to further their mission and serve women caught in the cycle of abuse. Click here for details and tickets.

    Enjoy Thanksgiving dinner guilt-free and walk or run the 5K or one mile course along the beautiful Wrightsville Beach Loop! This race is fun for the whole family with a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. We recognize how difficult it can be to make it to our events due to work, family and other obligations. So we are bringing the events to you!
