Our annual Thankful Hearts Luncheon provides significant funding to operate our centralized humanitarian services campus of nonprofit organizations that bring hope, opportunity, and empowerment to our community. We gather together the week before Thanksgiving for a heartwarming and delicious Middle of the Island lunch to welcome the spirit of the season.
FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH | 11 AM - 12 PM
Tours are offered on the first Tuesday of every month at 11:00 a.m. We gather in the main lobby on the 2nd Floor of the center. The tour lasts about 45 minutes, and afterwards many visitors like to walk to their favorite downtown Wilmington restaurant for lunch. Touring the Center is a great way to learn about what we do, meet our partners, check out the old jail, and find out more about volunteer opportunities! Call 910-343-8212 or email Lindsay to RSVP. Be the Adult's Inaugural fundraiser, the Barn Dance Barbecue, will be held on September 15th, 2018 at beautiful Marker 137 overlooking Masonboro Island. This will be a casual, yet festive night of friends coming together to hear music by Folkstone Stringband, enjoy square dancing and feast on delicious barbecue. The fundraiser will allow Be the Adult to publish more books for practicing parenting skills to give to parents, nonprofits, and schools for free in New Hanover County.
