Carol’s husband Tom had his own HVAC repair company and was still working full time at 70 when he had a stroke and was hospitalized. The week he returned home, a major leak in the home left the bottom floor flooded and they had to move out while repairs were done.
While in temporary housing Carol became ill. Between caring for Tom and herself, she could not work. Their savings were depleted by the time they moved back into their home and still had outstanding bills to cover.
Help Hub was able to pay off a delinquent home repair bill, direct her to DSS for utility help, and to The Salvation Army for mortgage assistance. Carol was incredibly grateful for the guidance to helpful resources and kindness shown to her family.
