Feeling less burdened and more loved

February 6th, 2024

Dave, chronically homeless, came for help to pay his storage unit fees. With a $400 balance, his belongings were at risk. Dave, physically and mentally distraught, had also lost his phone charger, and his phone was dead.

He met with an advisor who reminded him we had already paid his fees recently and could not assist again immediately. However, the advisor practiced resiliency skills and calmed Dave’s anxiety; gave him a cell phone charger, water and a snack; and listened, encouraged and prayed with Dave, who left feeling less burdened and more loved.

The advisor followed up with the storage facility to learn that Dave’s balance had been paid.
