Help Hub assisted with the Recovery House fees

May 16th, 2024

Charlie, age 66, came to the Help Hub distraught because his Medicare insurance would not pay the fees for his remaining days at a live-in alcohol treatment program. Charlie thought Medicare’s denial to pay was a mistake and sought guidance from our Healthcare Navigator, Sharon.

After a Help Hub advisor made many phone calls to find a recovery house that had an open bed, availability was found but would not be ready for three days. Charlie had nowhere to stay until then.
Gratefully, our partners at The Salvation Army agreed to pay for a hotel room for Charlie and Help Hub assisted with the Recovery House fees.

Update!
A month later Charlie dropped in to say thank you for our assistance. He looked refreshed saying how well he was doing in the program and showed us a completed application for possible housing at Eden Village.
