Our work with the Help Hub Includes:

  • Linking to doctors, dentists, behavioral health and vision providers, and other specialists
  • Providing medication education and helping with financial assistance for medicines
  • Connecting to resources for food, housing, jobs, and more
  • Obtaining needed referrals for care, durable medical equipment (DME), and supplies
  • Educating on lifestyle changes like stopping smoking and losing weight
  • Providing education to improve health and conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure

How Help HUB BEGAN

For years, area churches and non-profits have discussed ways to more efficiently serve those seeking financial assistance and/or needing help connecting to other resources.

Rather than working separately to address these concerns, The Harrelson Center, along with three Wilmington churches, combined resources to create The Help Hub. The Harrelson Center’s central location, on-site resource connections and heart to serve make it a uniquely ideal home for The Help Hub. By merging resources, we are able to make a greater impact in serving individuals and families in need in our community.

DONATIONS CAN BE MADE HERE

Be The Light

Youth from Help Hub member churches gather for fun and service activities to address needs in our community.

Past projects have included assembling:

  • gift bags for women in domestic shelters
  • welcome home baskets for displaced families
  • family game night packages
  • hurricane preparedness kits
  • collecting bicycles for children and teens
